NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME, COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, VELLAYANI
College of Agriculture, Vellayani in pursuit of social commitment amongst the students has instituted the National Service Scheme (NSS) which is a Government of India Scheme. The NSS is operational in the college with a faculty as an advisor. The College possesses two units headed by NSS programme Officers and NSS student Secretaries along with volunteers. All the undergraduate students are enrolled as volunteers, with 100 volunteers in each unit. The volunteers actively engage in food security and environmental protection programmes including tree planting which a major objective is set out by the National Service Scheme at the national level.
