Agri Lake Fest – 'Kayaloram-2019' was conducted on 26th and 27th of November, 2019 at Kakkamoola Bund Road under the joint auspices of College of Agriculture, Vellayani and State Wetland Authority, Kerala (SWAK) [Project on Biodiversity Sensitisation Programme with Dr Allan Thomas, Assistant Professor as the PI of the project] with the leadership support of Students Union, College of Agriculture, Vellayani. The 'Agri lake fest' was conducted with an aim to create awareness among the students, farming community as well as the public regarding the importance of conservation of Vellayani Lake. The programme focussed to develop the leadership of students on environmental protection and management. As part of this, several programmes including, agricultural mini-seminars, conservation talks, exhibitions, competitions and cultural activities were organized. Honourable Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Adv. V.S. Sunil Kumar inaugurated the programme that was presided by Sri. M. Vincent, MLA. Dr A. Anil Kumar, Dean of the college was the chief organiser of the programme.
