Dr. Shalini Pillai P. is Professor and Head of the Department of Agronomy at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani. Her areas of specialisation include cropping system research with special reference to rice and rice-based cropping systems, soil nutrient dynamics, and integrated nutrient management. She joined Kerala Agricultural University as Assistant Professor in Agronomy in 1999 and has served at Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Tavanur, Malappuram; Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kollam; and the Regional Agricultural Research Station (Southern Zone), Vellayani. She is currently posted at the Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Vellayani. Dr. Shalini Pillai completed her B.Sc. in Agriculture (1989), M.Sc. in Agronomy (1992), and Ph.D. in Agronomy (1999), all from Kerala Agricultural University.
