The Constitution Day of India is observed on November 26 every year to commemorate the adoption of the fundamental principles governing the nation. The day was celebrated at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani by taking an oath and reading the preamble of the Indian constitution.

A special commemoration was organized today at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, campus in honor of the renowned agricultural scientist, Dr. M.S. Swaminathan. Recognized globally for his transformative work in the field of agriculture and his pivotal role in India's Green Revolution, Dr. Swaminathan's contributions have had a lasting impact on food security and sustainable farming. Under the guidance of Dr. Roy Stephen, the Dean of Faculty, scientists and students gathered to pray for his dear departed soul and to commemorate his contributions and legacy.
Three students from the College of Agriculture, Vellayani have been nominated as "UGC -NEP -SAARTHI - Student Ambassador for Academic Reforms in Transforming Higher Education in India" (300 SAARTHI all over India). Through NEP SAARTHI, UGC aims to foster an environment where students can engage the students’ community as active participants in effectively implementing the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP).
The Department of Agricultural Extension Education at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, organized an Academic Interaction event on 11-9-2023, featuring Dr. Mahesh Jaishi, an international scientist and the Director of the Directorate of Extension at the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Tribhuwan University, Nepal. During the event, Dr. Jaishi discussed overseas opportunities in agricultural education, provided valuable insights into Nepal's agricultural education system, and highlighted the current agricultural landscape in Nepal.
